Ironman Louisville goes this Sunday August 25

Patrick Evoe returns to defend the men's title.

American Patrick Evoe will return to defend his Ironman Louisville title this coming Sunday August 25. The women will see a new champion since American Bree Wee raced at Ironman Mont-Tremblant and is back home in Hawaii.

In the professional and amateur ranks, 39 countries are represented with United States sending 2,754 participants (93%), 49 states are represented with Kentucky sending 210 participants (7%).

Ironman Louisville offers a $25,000 professional prize purse and 50 age group qualifying slots for the 2013 Ironman World Championship, taking place on Oct. 12, 2013 in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
