Seeking the right coach to help you get to the finish line of your full distance race this year? Ironman announced the launch of a free new service through Ironman University. CoachMatch matches athletes to an Ironman certified coach from their large database. For these overwhelmed the prospect of finding the perfect coach, the service gives you access to a wide variety of coaches from around the world. It makes match recommendations based on your answers to specific questions regarding your needs as an athlete.

“Given that athletes train an average of six to nine months to prepare for an Ironman event while also balancing work, family, and other obligations, it is increasingly important to hire the right coach who can meet their specific needs,” said  Andrew Messick, Ironman’s CEO. “In a recent survey of Ironman and Ironman 70.3 athletes, it was found that athletes were two times more likely to be satisfied with their race performance if they hired a coach.”

“If you want to maximize your chance of having your best day, on what could be one of the most memorable days of your life, you should hire a coach,” said Paula Newby-Fraser, eight-time Ironman World Champion and Ironman U Master Coach.

Ironman is hosting a sweepstakes to celebrate the launch of CoachMatch. Athletes who use the service will automatically be entered for a chance to race Ironman events free for an entire year. More info can be found here.
