New Caledonia’s Patrick Vernay won his fourth title today at the 25th Ironman Australia Port Macquarie, while Australian Carrie Lester won her first career Ironman title.

Vernay swam 44:49, biked 4:41:59, and ran the top split of 2:54:04. Lester swam 49:43, biked 5:00:57, and ran 3:29:36. Her bike was the fastest of the day, the next fastest cyclist was 8 minutes slower (Rebekah Keat).
