Ironman 70.3 Vineman victories for Bevan Docherty and Meredith Kessler

Calgary's Lisa Mensink places seventh.

New Zealand’s Bevan Docherty started off with a 23:08 swim, then worked himself into the lead with the fastest ride of the day (2:06:48). With a two and a half minute lead in his back pocket, he ran 1:12:16 to easily take the win in a course record time of 3:45:10.

American Meredith Kessler, racing less full Ironman distance races this year in order to be fresh for Kona, led from start to finish to win with an overall time of 4:13:18. She led the swim 25:03, biked 2:22:49, and had the top run of 1:20:46. Calgary’s Lisa Mensink finished seventh with a time of 4:30:57.
