Ironman 70.3 Timberman Results
Repeat wins for Potts and Wellington.
Andy Potts (USA) and Chrissie Wellington (GBR) successfully defended their titles today at Ironman 70.3 TImberman in Gilford, New Hampshire. Both led their races from start to finish to take their victories.
Potts swam 22:43, biked 2:09:27 – both race best splits, and backed it up with a 1:16:08 half marathon to finish in 3:50:51, ahead of South Africa’s Raynard Tissink (3:53:32). Orillia’s Brent Poulsen finished eighth (4:05:17).
Wellington led the pro women’s swim (25:40), biked 2:22:14, and ran 1:19:06 to earn yet another dominating win in 4:10:11. Prince George, B.C.’s Angela Naeth used the top women’s bike split (2:21:49) to finish second (4:24:59). St-Jean-Sur-Ric, Quebec’s Annie Gervais was fourth (4:29:04), and Ottawa age grouper Sara Domina, 31, finished ninth (4:39:23).
