The island of Puerto Rico will host Ironman 70.3 San Juan on Saturday March 19, 2011. The race becomes the 46th event of the Ironman 70.3 Series, and offers 40 qualifying spots for the 2011 Foster Grant Ironman 70.3 World Championship.
Athletes will swim 1.2 miles in the protected waters of San Juan Bay, transition facing the Puerto Rico Convention Center, ride 56 miles bike from San Juan toward the municipality of Dorado (with several short, but challenging climbs), and finish with a 13.1-mile run through the historic and picturesque city of Old San Juan.
