Ironman 70.3 Pucon Preview

In 1984, 150 athletes took part the first Chilean Half Ironman and on Sunday, some 800 will toe the start line at Ironman 70.3 Pucon.

This race will offer a $50 000 US prize purse, and valuable ranking points for the professionals wishing to qualify for the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Age group athletes will battle it out for 30 age group qualifying slots.

Brazil’s Reinaldo Colucci returns to defend his title, while USA’s Heather Gollnick, last year’s women’s runner up to Amanda Lovato, hopes to take the top spot this time around and become a three-time winner of the event.
