Ironman 70.3 Busselton Results

Victories for Lawn and Berkel.

New Zealand’s Joanna Lawn and Australia’s Tim Berkel took home wins this morning at Ironman 70.3 Busselton.

Lawn won Ironman 70.3 Australia last week at Port Macquarie and made it two in a row today in Busselton. Lawn led the swim, fell back just a bit during the bike, and then ran the top women’s half marathon of 1:22:57 to take the title in 4:13:23. Australia’s Rebekah Keat crossed the finish line next in 4:15:55, and Belinda Granger in third (4:16:35).

Meanwhile, Australia’s Tim Berkel, upgraded his second place position from last week by utilizing the top half marathon split (1:13:48) to claim the win (3:51:27). Fellow Aussies Matty White (3:52:50) and Tim Reed (3:53:59) picked up second and third respectively. New Zealand’s Guy Crawford built a four minute lead after the swim and bike, but lost the race lead during the run to finish sixth (3:58:15).
