Introducing Ironman Regensburg

On August 1, 2010, Regensburg, Germany will host Ironman's third event in the country.

On August 1, 2010, the Bavarian city of Regensburg will host Ironman’s third event in Germany. The inaugural race will serve as an official qualifier for the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, awarding 50 slots for pro and age group athletes. The swim will take place in the Lake Guggenberger See, just eight miles outside of Regensburg. The two-loop bike course, which travels through parts of the Bavarian Forest National Park, will showcase a number of climbs, while also offering a picturesque backdrop of quaint villages. The run course is located on parts of the Danube Island and the historical city of Regensburg. The race finishes close to Steinerne Bruecke, a World Heritage Site of UNESCO.
