If you are using Zwift hardware your virtual shifting capabilities will soon work with virtual cycling app Rouvy.

Zwift’s Ride, Click and Cog will be Rouvy-friendly when it launches on February 12. With the introduction of Rouvy’s virtual shifting compatibility, Zwift riders can now also access Rouvy software. That means more routes for Zwifties because of Rouvy’s recent partnership with Ironman, which expanded its availability of cycling routes.

Rouvy routes now accessible to Zwift users

Rouvy’s platform offers over 1,500 routes. Zwift users will have access to all these routes in addition to all 24 virtual gears, displayed on-screen indicating gear status next to power, heart rate and cadence data.

“Rouvy is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technology that enhances the indoor riding experience for as many users as possible,” said Marke-Martin Makyska, product director.

“With this additional compatibility, we continue to offer users the most flexible and immersive training environment possible no matter what hardware they use.”

New bike day for Rouvy riders

It’s also “new bike day” in Rouvy’s virtual garage. It added Ribble bikes with Ultra SL R to its line up. The Ribble takes its place on the rack next to Specialized, Trek, Cervelo, Giant and Liv. When riders chose a specific bike their virtual riding experience reflects the design and aerodynamics of the each bike in real life.

Rouvy recently acquired FulGaz, which had been Ironman’s official virtual riding app. The acquisition formed a new partnership between Rouvy and Ironman, leading to the addition of many official Ironman and 70.3 Ironman Triathlon Series riding routes.

The virtual platform connects indoor bike trainers to an app that uses realistic videos to take riders on virtual rides over real-life routes.

Popular Ironman 70.3 courses such as Mont Tremblant, Oregon, Zell Am See-Kaprun and the European Championship are now available. More routes are expected to be added as the platform continues to evolve this year.

The expanded availability of Ironman race courses on the digital platform is an advantage to triathletes training for an upcoming Ironman race or trying to decide which race course suits their strengths. Now this advantage is shared with Zwift users.

Rouvy records real routes on location. Its routes include marked aid stations along its virtual courses, giving athletes the opportunity to practice their fuelling strategy in real time. Its full program of events include challenges, group rides, workouts and training plans to suit every level.

As Rouvy and Zwift become riding partners, FulGaz is being dropped. It will be phased out entirely in the near future.
