Heather Wurtele wins Ironman 70.3 Calgary

Tim Don outruns Trevor Wurtele for the men's title.

Kelowna’s Heather Wurtele used the fastest women’s half marathon on 1:23:48 to pass and then shake free of Vancouver’s Rachel McBride to take the win at Ironman 70.3 Calgary.

Kelowna’s Trevor Wurtele rode a sizzling 2:02:55 bike split but that was not enough. Great Britain’s Tim Don made use of his ITU speed to put together a great swim/run combination to beat Wurtele by 35 seconds.
