Hayden Wilde Dominates Singapore T100; Matt Hauser Over Eight Minutes Back
The long-anticipated battle between Hayden Wilde and Matt Hauser was the headline entering Singapore, but Wilde quickly turned it into a one-man race.

Today the men’s T100 Triathlon World Tour kicked off in Singapore, one of the most challenging courses on the circuit because of the heat and humidity.
Pre-race, much of the anticipation centered on a showdown between two reigning world champions: Hayden Wilde, the defending (and essentially undefeated) T100 world champion, and Matt Hauser, the reigning World Triathlon champion stepping up to the distance.
However, Wilde removed the suspense early. After emerging from the swim with the lead group – a positive sign as he continues to recover from the crash that injured his shoulder – the Kiwi took the lead within the opening kilometres of the bike and steadily rode away from the field on the eight-lap Formula 1 circuit. From there, the outcome looked increasingly certain as Wilde controlled the race from the front and opened his 2026 T100 campaign in emphatic fashion.
The performance was a statement from an athlete whose ambitions remain unchanged after last season. As he shared post-race: Really happy with how the day panned out… Biggest thing for me here is confidence out of the water. Last year I was out of the water one minute back… Gotta pay for [the] wedding somehow!”
Behind him, Sam Dickinson delivered one of the strongest performances of his career to take second, improving on his previous best T100 result of third. Mika Noodt rounded out the podium for his sixth career T100 podium, continuing his reputation as one of the most reliable contenders in the series.
As for Hauser, his fiancee Georgia revealed he had crashed on the bike two weeks earlier, while the Australian had logged only three weeks of time-trial bike preparation entering the race. Post-race, he said: “It was a big learning curve. I think it was nice to be a student of the sport again. I was humbled out there…nice to get my ass kicked today out there.”
