Gomez and Macca go head to head at Half Challenge Barcelona
The European Triathlon Championship goes Sunday May 19th.
Spain’s Javier Gómez Noya, silver medalist at the London Olympics and twice world triathlon champion will make his middle distance debut on May 19 at the Half Challenge Barcelona, which this year is doubling as the European Triathlon Championship.
Two-time Ironman World Champion Chris McCormack is just one of a stellar field of pro triathletes set to race Half Challenge Barcelona but Gomez is especially looking to tangle with the Australian legend who celebrated his 40th birthday yesterday.
During a live chat last night, Macca stated that Gómez will kick his rear end – or words very similar to that. and that Gómez will be the next big star in the 70.3 and Ironman world.
