Remember when we couldn’t believe that James Lawrence, the “Iron Cowboy,” managed to complete 101 full-distance (3.8 km swim/ 180 km bike/ 42.2 km run) races in a row? Then when Great Britain’s Sean Conway broke that record, completing 105 full-distance efforts in a row? Those records have both been beaten now, as German adventurer Jonas Deichmann completed his 106th straight day of the famous Challenge Roth course, and isn’t planning on stopping until he gets to 120.

“I am the alone-standing world record holder,” Deichmann declared on Instagram last night after completing the 106th day of his challenge.

Deichmann started his effort on May 9 and will finish on Sept. 9. He celebrated the halfway point of his record attempt by joining the rest of the field 3,500 individual competitors on July 7 at Challenge Roth.

Deichmann has set a number of cycling world records including the fastest crossing of Eurasia (and set a new record for crossing Europe at the same time), rode unsupported from Alaska to Argentina in 97 days and from Capenorth, Norway to Cape Town, South Africa in 72 days, seven hours and 27 minutes, breaking the previous record by 30 days. He broke Conway’s longest triathlon record thanks to a 429-day journey around the world that was the equivalent of 120 long-distance triathlons – 456 km of swimming, 21,600 km of cycling and 5,064 km of running. You can find out more about the German adventurer on his website.

With his finish yesterday he’s added another record to his impressive resume, and will look to have that record last for a while with a few more weeks of full-distance racing every day!
