Findlay Second in Queensland

Paula Findlay turned up the heat in Queensland this weekend taking second in the prestigious Suburu Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival, Australia’s largest, oldest and highest profile triathlon event.

Running down powerhouse Caroline Steffen, Findlay closed the slight lead Steffen and Australia’s Ashleigh Gentle opened on the bike. With the fastest run of the day and the third fastest swim, Findlay proved yet again that her comeback is on finishing the race in 1:59:58, 50 seconds behind race winner Gentle. Steffen was third in 2:00:29. New Zealand’s Nicky Samuels was poised for a top finish off the swim and bike, but faded to fifth on the run.

On the men’s side, Australia swept the podium with Aaron Royle in first in a time of 1:47:59, followed by Dan Wilson in 1:48:02 and Ryan Bailie just four seconds behind in third.
