Findlay places second at Vancouver Sun Run

Widney gets fifth and Smith ninth.

Fresh off her big win at the ITU’s World Championship Series race in Sydney, Edmonton’s Paula Findlay decided to test her legs out yesterday at the Vancouver Sun Run 10 km and placed second (33:47) to Kenya’s Lucy Njeri (33:41).

Findlay earned $1000 for her efforts along with a bonus $2000 for being the top Canadian.

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t catch her on the last bridge. She was so strong,” said Findlay to the Vancouver Sun.

Other stellar Canadian triathletes also placed in the top ten. Edmonton’s Chantell Widney finished fifth (34:33), and Sidney’s Lucy Smith (35:26) placed ninth.
