Spain’s Eneko Llanos showed his run prowess yet again, giving early notice that he is a serious threat come Kona time. In ninth position after the bike, he trailed American Andrew Starykowicz by 4:59, Llanos threw down a stunning race best half marathon of 1:08:41 to take the win in 3:52:36.
“It was not an easy race today. It took some time until I found my rhythm on the run. But it was really fast and for me it was a really good race. I’m really happy that I could win the race in front of this great Spanish audience,” said Llanos on Ironmanlive coverage.
