Edmonton Winter Triathlon
This Sunday at Hawrelak Park.
Part of the Silver Skate Festival (February 19-21), the Edmonton Winter Triathlon will take place this Sunday, February 21st at 9:30 AM in Hawrelak Park, Edmonton.
The race first started in 1989 out of a desire to provide something different than the ordinary. Formerly a 5-5-5 km skate, run, ski format, as of 2007 the triathlon now consists of a 10 km Skate, 10 km Ski, and a 5 km Run.
Skaters, skiers and runners of any age, strength, and ability are encouraged to participate. There are solo and team relay categories, and teams can have as many as five people. There are categories for Men’s, Women’s, Mixed, Corporate, and Family Teams.
There is also a 25 km skate marathon on Saturday.
