Register before midnight (EST) on Friday March 1.
This July 7th, 2013, the 4th annual ‘Mine’ Over Matter Off-Road Triathlon, Duathlon and Trail Run event will play host to the 2013 Canadian Cross Triathlon Championships.
If you plan on adding this race to schedule, it is suggested that you take advantage of the Early Bird Price.

With its official event name now ‘Mine’ Over Matter: Canadian Cross Triathlon Championships, it will provide participants from across Canada the opportunity to finally compete in order to earn age group qualifying spots to represent Canada at the 2014 ITU Cross Triathlon Championships in Zittau, Germany.
“Having to race to qualify for a world championship will do a world of good to grow Cross Triathlon in Canada”, says James Kowalewski, founder and race director of Element Racing. “It provides a grand reason to dedicate training and build towards a significant goal- an opportunity to represent your country on a world stage. We are thrilled to provide that opportunity to all”.
About ‘Mine’ Over Matter
‘Mine’ Over Matter takes place at the Kelso Conservation Area in Milton Ontario Canada. The main race hub is actually located on top of the Niagara escarpment in the old Kelso Quarry adjacent to the mountain bike trail network of the conservation area. It was the first event to pioneer the use of that quarry after it was granted to Conservation Halton. The race still remains one of the only chances for participants to swim in the spring fed, baby blue quarry lake, as the quarry is not open to the general public.
Qualifying spots will be awarded to age group participants in the full distance Cross Triathlon only. Any athlete wishing to race elite at the World Championship can do so via Triathlon Canada’s high performance committee.
The 2013 Canadian Cross Triathlon Championship offers participants the opportunity to compete in the following events:
- Full Distance Cross Triathlon – age group qualifying spots for 2014 ITU Cross Triathlon Championships in Zittau, Germany
- Full Distance Cross Triathlon RELAY
- Full Distance Cross Duathlon
- Short Distance Cross Triathlon
- Short Distance Cross Triathlon RELAY
- Trail Run
How to Qualifying for the 2014 ITU Cross Triathlon Championships in Zittau, Germany
The qualifying spots will be awarded 10 deep per age group category (10 for female 20-24, 10 for female 25-29 etc.) in the full distance age group cross triathlon event only. More information can be found on the event website.
Currently, for the 2013 ITU Cross Triathlon Championships in Den Haag, Netherlands, interested participants are required to submit a racing application to Triathlon Canada and can still do so by following this link: https://triathloncanada.com/en/newsdetails.ch2?uid=Home&newsarticle_id=3582.
