Did you experience problems on Ironman.com on the weekend?

If you were experiencing problems trying to follow along with the live coverage of Ironman Canada or Louisville this past weekend on Ironman.com, you were not alone.

According to Ironman, both sites were the target of a cyberattack (Distributed Denial-of-Service or DDoS Attack) designed to deny users access to the website, thus the inability effectively follow the your favourite athlete around the race course. Basically, the attack overwhelmed the sites with page requests from fake users so that legitimate users were unable to get through the resulting traffic jam.
