Daniel Takes World Title in Chicago

Stefan Daniel wrapped up a dream season of racing with a win at today’s Paratriathlon World Championship in Chicago in the men’s PT4 division. The 18-year-old took the elite paratriathlon in Edmonton a few weeks ago to go along with his stellar win at the national junior championship in July. Chantal Givens finished eighth in the women’s PT4 category, while Christine Robbins, guided by Sasha Boulton, took eighth in the PT5 category.

We caught up with the Calgary native right after the race, which turned out to be a tough battle with Germany’s Martin Schultz, who finished just 30 seconds behind.

Chantal Givens finished seventh in the women’s PT4 category, a month to the day after cracking her shoulder blade in a bike crash that almost put her out of the race.
