Great Britain’s Daniel Halksworth and Lucy Gossage won the fifth Ironman UK today in Bolton, England.

Halksworth led his title defence with by coming out of the water first (43:59), then rode 4:56:45 to trail fellow Brit Stephen Bayliss by one second heading into T2. Halksworth then ran away from Bayliss with a 3:01:20 marathon to defend his title in 8:45:48.

The women’s race featured a one woman show put on by Lucy Gossage. She led right from the start with a 52:30 swim, and just got further out of reach with every passing second. She rode a dominant 5:22:13, and ran 3:10:22 to post a winning time of 9:29:12 – 36:05 faster then Joanna Carritt who finished second.
