Cool incentives surround XTERRA Italy and France

For North Americans looking to make a vacation out of an XTERRA European Tour race this season the first two championship events in Italy and France both have appealing events in addition to the race.

Surrounding the May 27 XTERRA Italy Championship three-time XTERRA World Champion Melanie McQuaid will be leading a nine-day mountain bike training tour from Rome to Florence with the base camp in Tuscany – one of the most beautiful and history-rich areas of the world.

In July the seventh stage of the Tour de France passes just a few kilometers away from the home of the XTERRA France Championship in Gerardmer on July 7 (with XTERRA France on July 8). Then, on July 9th you could catch the first time trial stage around Besancon, just two hours from Gerardmer.
