Colucci and Carvallo capture Ironman 70.3 Pucon

Colucci beats Fontana by three seconds.

Brazil’s Reinaldo Colucci had to hold off a hard charging Daniel Fontana from Italy to capture the Ironman 70.3 Pucon title in Chile today. Colucci, a 2012 Olympian, crossed the finish line in 4:04:12 claim the win with a slim winning margin of three-seconds to capture his third Ironman 70.3 Pucon title of his career.

In the women’s race, Chile’s Valentina Carvallo notched her second Ironman 70.3 title of her career with her win in Pucon in front of supportive home crowd. American Sarah Piampiano finished second, while Uruguay’s Frederica Frontini rounded out the podium.
