Challenge Penticton registrations approach 1400 racers

The race goes Sunday August 25.

According to the Penticton Western News, there are currently close to 1400 people registered to race at the inaugural Challenge Penticton on Sunday August 25th.

By race day, organizers expect to have 1500-1700 participants. This is plenty shy last year’s total of 2700 racers when the race was Ironman Canada, but they expect to build back up to those participation numbers once again.

“Everything that we’re doing with Challenge Penticton is from scratch, so nothing has held over from the previous race. There’s barely a paper clip,” said Challenge Penticton executive director Barb Haynes to the Penticton Western News.
