Challenge Atlantic City Goes Beyond Racing to Injury Prevention and Care

If you’re racing the inaugural Challenge Atlantic City this summer you’ll be in extra good hands. Challenge Atlantic City and the Challenge Family global series of long distance triathlons have announced the inaugural Challenge Atlantic City Sports Medicine Symposium (CACSMS) June 27-29, 2014 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The two day comprehensive symposium on sports medicine for endurance athletes is the first of its kind in the region.  The symposium will feature nationally and internationally renowned speakers in the field of sports medicine as well as athletic performance, nutrition, and recovery. The symposium is held in conjunction with the inaugural Challenge Atlantic City triathlon which takes place Sunday June 29th.

The symposium will feature leading edge, evidence-based treatment within field-based clinical conditions. The practical, skill-oriented information is designed for sports medicine professionals engaged in the care of endurance athletes.

In addition to attending the symposium, attendees may volunteer as race-day medical tent personnel. This unique partnership between Challenge Atlantic City and the CACSMS offers world-class care to the competing athletes from a variety of experts in the field of sports medicine. It allows the medical professionals the opportunity to provide care in a real-time, real-world competitive environment with both professional and amateur endurance athletes.
