Common Wealth Games team member Kyle Jones and Canada’s Andrew McCartney will  be racing against the world’s fastest elite men at the fifth edition of the PruHealth World Triathlon London this  weekend in Hyde Park. Jones, a 2012 Olympian, 2x National Champion, and World Cup winner from Oakville, Ont. has been training hard in Europe. This week he tweeted, “Great week of training in Mallorca followed by a 10th place finish at the French Grand Prix in Dunkerque yesterday. Starting to come around!”

In years past Javier Gomez and the Brownlee brothers have battled at the front, but this year, Spain’s Mario Mola will be added to the mix and the change in distance from Olympic to sprint could really shake things up. In the four years London has been on the WTS schedule, either Alistair Brownlee or Gomez  has won the race, but Jonathan Brownlee has medalled in three of the four World Triathlon London races is particularly strong at the sprint distance.
