Cross Nationals take place this weekend at the XTERRA ‘Mine’ Over Matter Off-Road Triathlon and Duathlon in Milton, Ont. The full-off road triathlon consists of a 1 km single loop swim in the spring-fed Kelso Quarry, a 17-19 km ride (two loops) and a 8.5 km single-loop trail run. The bike course winds through the Kelso Conservation Area, while the run follows along the escarpment trails. The course is fast with constant shifts from double to single track with multiple opportunities for passing.

On offer are 10 age group qualifying spots from each age category for the  2015 ITU Cross Triathlon Championships. XTERRA ‘Mine’ Over Matter has been awarded 14 direct entry spots for age groupers into the XTERRA World Championships held on October 26th, 2014 in Maui Hawaii.

Those spots will be divided evenly with 7 going to female racers and 7 going to male racers. Qualifying spots will be awarded to the first place finishers (male and female) in 10 year incremental age groups. However, athletes will be competing at the XTERRA World Championships in 5 year incremental age groups. If a finisher does not wish to accept the entry, it will then be rolled down to the next fastest finisher within that same age group.
