Canadian Cross Triathlon Championship Results
Sean Bechtel and Heather Pady are the Canadian Champions.

Caledon’s Sean Bechtel and Mono’s Heather Pady finished first overall at the Canadian Cross Triathlon Championship at the Mine Over Matter event held at Kelso Quarry in Milton, Ontario.
Bechtel started the day with a 1 km 13:03 swim, powered further into the lead with a 46:41 bike (19km), and with a healthy lead, he ran a pressure-free 8.5 km run 35:38 to take the win in 1:36:27. Kitchener’s Karsten Madsen finished second (1:40:45), and Rui Xu of Dundas claimed third (1:41:10).
Pady controlled the women’s race from start to finish, her race best leading 18:18 swim, 1:00:28 bike, and 41:54 run allowed her to cross the line in 2:02:38 and win by over 11 minutes. Christa Yoshimoto came in next for second (2:13:41), and Hamilton’s Robin Barker third (2:18:42).
The event was qualifier for the 2014 ITU Cross Triathlon Championships in Zittau, Germany.
