Thanks to Montreal’s Kathy Tremblay and her win this past weekend in Ishigaki, Canada currently has enough points to qualify to send two women to the London 2012 Olympic Games Triathlon.
The Canadian men also qualify to send two athletes, but are engaged in a close battle with Australia and Portugal to get that third team member of the team.
The deadline for Olympic Qualification is Thursday May 31 so a major points battle is expected to take place at ITU World Triathlon Series races at San Diego (May 10-12), and Madrid (May 26-27).
