Bozzone and Keat capture Ironman 70.3 Shepparton, McQuaid gets second
New Zealand’s Terenzo Bozzone followed up on his Ironman 70.3 Mandurah win last week, with another one today at Ironman 70.3 Shepparton.
Bozzone was the third pro after the swim (23:23), moved up to second after the bike (2:08:19), then ran a race best 1:15:59 to take the overall win in 3:50:00 and defend his Ironman 70.3 Shepparton title from 2012.

Australia’s Rebekah Keat led the swim (25:14), but lost that lead to Canada’s Melanie McQuaid during the bike ride. McQuaid rode 2:19:08 to conclude the 90 km ride with a 3:56 lead. Keat ran a race best 1:20:03 half marathon to pass McQuaid to defend her title in 4:13:04 and set the new course record.
Victoria’s McQuaid ran 1:26:18 to hold onto second (4:15:15).
