B.C. Provincial Long Course Championships

Tisseyre And Symonds win.

Yesterday’s Vancouver Half Iron distance triathlon (1.9k swim/90k bike/20k run) served as the British Columbia Provincial Long Course Championships. Coming out on top were Quebec’s (resides in Victoria) Magali Tisseyre, and Penticton’s Jeff Symonds.

Symonds (3:50:14) led the whole way to win by close to 7 minutes over Victoria’s Stephen Kilshaw (3:57:12), a runner up for the second year in a row. Kelowna’s Trevor Wurtele (4:00:30) rounded out the top three.

Meanwhile, Tisseyre and Heather Wurtele (recently won Ironman St. George), challenged each other all day but Tisseyre took a slight lead onto the run and was able to stay away for the win (4:12:13). Wurtele claimed second (4:13:22), and Vancouver’s Amy Kirkham was third (4:29:45).
