Vancouver’s Rachel McBride led Chile’s Barbara Riveros by four seconds after the bike, but Riveros, the ITU standout, ran away from McBride for the win in 4:16:10. Germany’s Katja Konschak posted the fastest run of the day (1:19:59) to claim second (4:21:05), and McBride held onto third (4:23:48).
