Armstrong dominates and Jacobs run to first in Florida

Paolina Allan gets ninth, Julien Biboud finishes 12th.

Americans Lance Armstrong and Jessica Jacobs both topped the podium today at Ironman 70.3 Florida.

Armstrong finally won his first race since his comeback to triathlon on the strength of a dominating bike/run combination.

Armstrong trailed out of the water with a 24:52 swim (behind David Kahn’s 23:29), but hammered the entire field with a 2:01:13 bike ride, and kept the top splits going with a 1:15:56 half marathon to take a crushing 3:45:38 victory. Maxim Kriat (UKR) was second in 3:56:56, and Spain’s Francesco Godoy third (3:59:45). Canada’s Julien Biboud finished in 12th overall (4:18:09).
