Another World Champion is out of action

Stress Fracture for Brownlee.

Great Britain’s Alistair Brownlee has now joined fellow co-World Champion Emma Moffatt on the sidelines.

Brownlee has a femoral stress fracture, and the injury should keep him out of the ITU’s Dextro Energy World Championship Series events in Sydney and Seoul. He plans on returning to racing again in Madrid on June 5.

“Inactivity is a killer,” said Brownlee on his website.

Even with missing two races, Brownlee still has plenty of events (Madrid, London, Kitzbuehel, Budapest, and two World Cup event to apply to his World ranking) to compete at in order to defend his World Championship title and number one ranking.
