Ambrose and Snow take Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island

Annie Gervais is second and Miranda Tomenson-Bharadwaj third.

American Caitlin Snow stayed within reach of fellow American Dede Griesbauer during the swim and bike, and to no one’s surprise once on the run she blazed to the front with the top half marathon of 1:21:23 to take the easy win (4:32:50). Quebec’s Annie Gervais moved up to second with a 2:39:22 bike and second best 1:25:38 run (4:40:43). Toronto’s Miranda Tomenson-Bharadwaj also ran well (1:27:28) to finish third (4:40:58).

Great Britain’s Paul Ambrose controlled the race with the fastest swim (24:44) and bike (2:09:23), and with a healthy lead he just needed to run 1:18:05 to take the dominant win in 3:54:29. The Ukraine’s Maxim Kriat finished second (4:05:03), and American Mike Caiazzo ran the top split of 1:15:22 to seize third (4:07:14) after a slow swim and bike.
