Australia’s Josh Amberger led everyone out of the water, and then proceeded to smash the entire field with the day’s top bike split of 2:10:10. Comfortably in the lead, he ran a pressure free 1:20:25 half marathon to take the win in 3:56:48 – 3 minutes and 23 seconds ahead of Sam Appleton (AUS).

Fellow Australian Lisa Marangon also put together an unmatched one-two punch during the swim and bike. Her 26:13 swim, and top ride of 2:30:34 put her well in front by the start of the run where she easily captured the women’s title in 4:30:49 – that enabled her to have a margin of victory of 10 minutes and 6 seconds.
