Alexander Vanderlinden and Angela Quick win in Woodstock

Erik Box and Jennifer Faraone take the Duathlon.

MultiSport Canada kicked off their 12th season with its opening race in Woodstock, Ontario.

In the Sprint Triathlon (750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run), Chatham’s Alexander Vanderlinden used the top 5 km run of the day (17:24) to come from behind to take the overall win in 1:01:09. St. George’s Angela Quick got out in front early with the fastest swim (9:59) and led the rest of the way to grab the women’s victory in 1:11:34. Vanderlinden looks to bring his run talent to the World Duathlon Championship Under 23 draft legal event in Ottawa (Saturday August 10), while Quick will make the transition to 70.3 distance this year to race as a professional.
