A pair of bronze medals for Canada at CAMTRI in Barbados

Charles Paquet and Karol-Ann Roy finish third at the CAMTRI event in Bridgetown, Barbados.

On April 21st, just two weeks following his Ironman 70.3 Oceanside win, Ben Kanute raced the CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon American Cup in Bridgetown, Barbados. Kanute remained in the middle of the pack for most of the day before running away from the field. Diego Moya (CHI) finished second. The one man to run the 5K course faster than Kanute was Charles Paquet (CAN). Paquet was followed by John Rasmussen (CAN) in fourth. Tristen Jones (CAN), a promising junior triathlete finished 23rd. Jones came out of the water nearly a minute behind the leaders, but set the fifth fastest bike split to get back into the lead pack.
