A big triathlon weekend ahead in New Brunswick

The inaugural TRI St. Andrews goes July 6 and 7.

St. Andrews, New Brunswick is set to host its first major triathlon event this coming weekend (July 6 & 7).

The TRI ST. Andrews By the Sea weekend features a Junior Elite race on Saturday, and a Long Course Triathlon race which serves as a qualifier for the 204 ITU Long Course World Championships in Weihai, China.

Registration for the Junior Elite race is closed but online registration is available for the rest of the events until July 5 at 6 pm local time.

11:00 Press Conference – Kingsbrae Gardens

1:30- 2:30 Jr.Elite Swim Practice

3:00-4:00 Jr.Elite Registration at the Arena

4:00 Mandatory Jr.Elite Race Briefing

Saturday -July 6th, 2013

7:00am – 10:00am Junior Elite Race’s (Starts in Katy’s Cove, finishes at the Algonquin Hotel)

10:30am Junior Elite Award’s Ceremony ( Algonquin Resort)

1:00pm- FREE Kingsbrae Garden’s Kids Race

3:15pm Ministers Island Beat the Tide Registration Opens at the main house on the Island

4:00pm – Ministers Island ‘Beat the Tide’ 5 Miler (Ministers Island)

5:00- 7:00 pm Long & Short Course Tri’s Registration Pack Pick up (Algonquin Resort Lobby)

Sunday  – July 7th, 2013

5:00am Bike Check in opens (Algonquin Resort Parking Lot)

6:15 Transition Area closes for all races

6:30 Mandatory Race Briefing at Katy’s Cove

7:00  Long Course Triathlon Starts (Katy’s Cove)

9:00 Short course Triathlon Starts (Katy’s Cove)

11:30 Finishers start to arrive (Algonquin Resort)

3:00 Short Course Awards – Algonquin Hotel Front Lawn

4:00-6:00 Mooselight Awards Banquet – Algonquin Golf Course

6:30 Kitchen Party brought to you by Mooselight featuring the live Band “Shaydid” Algonquin Golf Course
