Miami Tri Events, the creators of the 2575 Triathlon Series, and Club Med have commenced a partnership to host two sprint-distance triathlons at the Club Med Sandpiper Bay resort in Port St. Lucie, FL.
“When we first met with Club Med about our possible partnership, we soon realized that we shared the same values of giving our customers an unparalleled experience. We are proud to create a partnership with Club Med and to continue the growth of our series both nationally and internationally. The addition of a brand such as Club Med demonstrates the increasing interest in our 2575 Triathlon Series concept,” said Wilber Anderson, CEO of Miami Tri Events.
The 2575 Triathlon Series introduces a new approach to the triathlon sport. The number 2575 represents the distance, in kilometers, raced by athletes in a sprint triathlon. Triathletes competing in this race series will swim .75 km (.46 miles), bike 20 km (12.4 miles) and run 5 km (3.1 miles) in various cities throughout the world. Club Med 2575 Sandpiper Bay will be the season opener of the series on February 24th along the beautiful premises of the newly renovated Club Med Sandpiper Bay property in Port St. Lucie, FL. Athletes participating in the 2575 Series have the opportunity to qualify for the 2575 Championship in September 2013 which will also take place at the Club Med Sandpiper Bay resort. Since most triathletes participate in Sprint distance triathlons, the 2575 Triathlon Series is geared towards the widest and greatest market, ensuring benefits to everyone involved.
This new series of races encourages the athletes to focus not solely on completing the race, but on their speed. Athletes are now faced with the challenge: “Are you the fastest?” Triathletes participating in 2575 Series events will receive superior products, medals, t-shirts and an overall better experience. Having owned and managed the 2nd biggest 70.3 in the U.S for the past three years, Miami Tri Events will apply the same principles of being approachable, humble & friendly towards athletes while understanding their needs.
