20th Annual Edmonton Winter Triathlon
Victories for Leboeuf and Critchley.
Thanks to a race best 10 km cross-country ski clocking of 30:02 (4 minutes and 21 seconds better than the next best time), Edmonton’s Maxime Leboef took top spot at the Edmonton Winter Triathlon yesterday. His initial 10 km skate (21:58), and final 5 km run (17:39) put him ahead of Canadian Olympic triathlete, Paul Tichelaar.
The women’s race was a much closer affair, with just 7 seconds separating first from second. In the end, it was Claire Critchley’s 38:47 ski segment (24:35 – 10 km skate, 22:28 – 5 km run) that gave her enough of a lead to stay ahead of Sarah Bergeron Larouc.
