Canadian Running

Finding motivation to work out can be tough–especially when your training isn’t personalized, stays the same week after week and leaves you running alone with your thoughts. After spending time with the Peloton Tread+ with Peloton IQ, it’s clear this treadmill is designed to make training smarter, more effective and genuinely enjoyable: meeting athletes where they are, adding variety and focusing on the small details that make a big difference.

An immersive experience

The first thing I noticed is the screen: it’s huge, crystal clear and instantly immersive, making you feel like you’ve stepped into the studio. From hitting intervals to hiking at an incline or zoning out on an easy day, the display keeps you engaged–so you’re focused on the run itself, not just watching numbers tick by.

Endless workout options

One of the things that surprised me most was the sheer variety of workouts available. Peloton Tread+ offers countless options for walking, walk + run, hiking, speed, intervals, endurance, progression runs, HIIT and bootcamps–so you can choose the workout that fits your energy and goals that day.

For someone who thrives on structure and accountability, live studio classes added an extra layer of motivation and connection, making workouts feel more enjoyable than when doing them solo. You can even set up notifications to remind you when the class you’ve opted to join is starting. And if you happen to miss the workout, it will be available on demand, so more and more classes are constantly becoming available.

If you’re not in the mood for a coached class, there’s flexibility there, too. You can choose scenic routes from around the world or even watch TV using your favourite streaming provider while working out. This is perfect for lower-intensity days when movement, rather than performance, is the goal. You can also set up weekly activity goals through Personalized Plans to help you stay consistent and reach milestones.

Making things personal

One feature that impressed me is Pace Targets–a feature that translates instructor cues into paces personalized to me. Instead of guessing what “moderate” or “challenging” should feel like, the workout adjusts the recommended paces to your own ability and goals, which you can set up in your account profile. It’s like having your own personal coach who knows where your fitness is at. And the more you use the Peloton Tread+, the more accurate these recommendations become.

The little things that matter

The Tread+ also focuses on the small details that make workouts smoother. Incline and speed knobs allow for seamless adjustments mid-workout, so you can say goodbye to frantic button-pressing during hard efforts. Free Mode is another fun feature–by disengaging the motor, the belt becomes manually propelled, letting you work out in an entirely new way that emphasizes power and strength–and there are classes specifically for this, too.

The integrated three-speed fan adds another layer of comfort–you don’t realize how much effective cooling can change the feel of a workout until you experience its adjustable airflow mid-session. And if you prefer a hands-off approach, auto-incline can adjust the treadmill for you during class sessions, so all you have to focus on is speed.

Not just running

Where the Tread+ really earns its value is the swivel screen. After easily rotating the screen, the treadmill becomes a hub for strength, yoga, mobility, Pilates, stretching and other non-running bootcamp classes, showcasing variety and well-rounded training. It makes it easy to build strength, improve mobility and recover–all within the same space.

Every detail is designed to make movement effortless. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, trying something new or just logging a consistent week of workouts, the machine adjusts to you. It’s not just a treadmill–it’s a training partner you can rely on.
