Earlier this year Olympic and three-time Kona champion Jan Frodeno led us all to believe that this would be his last race season as a pro, with the Ironman World Championship in Nice rounding out a career that many argue makes him the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).

Jan Frodeno announces final year schedule

With that in mind Canyon, one of Frodeno’s long-time sponsors, has equipped him with a specially themed bike for tomorrow’s Ironman European Championship in Hamburg. The paint job plays tribute to NASA’s Saturn V rocket that sent American astronauts to the moon in the 1960s. Until earlier this year, when SpaceX launched it’s new rocket that ended up exploding, the Saturn V was the most powerful machine ever built.

While the paint job on the bike is impressive, the aero qualities appear to be taken to the max, too. A sleek set of aero bars set things up at the front, while the rear of the bike features an interesting “fin” on which a rear waterbottle is placed.

As would be fitting for Frodeno, there’s a custom cockpit.
The rear, seat-post-mounted water bottle cage sits on a unique holder.

Frodeno’s rocket-themed Speedmax CFR disc is adorned with a number of decals to commemorate his spectacular career.

His helmet is adorned with a similar decal that commemorates his three Kona wins with the Hawaii leis and his Olympic gold from Beijing. They’ve even managed to include his unique Oakley aero helmet orbiting earth.

The bike includes SRAM’s Red 1X drive train along with a Zipp rear disc and an 858 NSW front wheel.
