Who still doesn’t have a spot for Kona 2019?

Already halfway through the qualifying period, there's a lot of heavy hitters who still need to grab a spot.

In 2019, Ironman switched from the points-based KPR system to a slot-based system to qualify pros for the Ironman World Championship. This system has its pros and cons, but I’m more interested in who still needs to qualify. I was surprised to see that we’re halfway through the qualifying period for the race and there’s a lot of heavy hitters who still need to grab a spot.

Lionel Sanders has yet to qualify for the 2019 Ironman World Championship. He was expected to race Ironman Texas, but a recent injury has pulled him off the start list.

This video is focused on the men’s race who still need to qualify, and I’ll follow up with another video looking at the women’s race. Ironman Mont Tremblant is the final race in this qualifying period, and I think it’s going to be a really exciting race with several guys we’d expect to see on the start line in Hawaii.
