This morning, Canadian men and women dominated the Ironman 70.3 Victoria pro fields, led by wins from Taylor Reid and Heather Wurtele. For many, it was a hometown race in Canada’s triathlon mecca — the Wurteles, Rachel McBride, Brent McMahon (who was spectating after his recent victory at Ironman Brazil) and others have grown up training in and around the area and were proud to throw down on home turf. TMC contributor Luke Yates was around for the race and captured the pro panel yesterday, where some of Canada’s long course stars talked about why they love the race, what makes the course great for pros and age-groupers alike, and how their own seasons are going so far this year.

If you haven’t race Ironman 70.3 Victoria before, you may want to sign up for next year after hearing why Canadian pros love the race so much.
