Video: Mackinnon and Shepley tell you everything you need to know about the Collins Cup match ups

We take a detailed look at all 12 of the matchups for Saturday's race in Slovakia

This weekend’s Collins Cup promises to be one of the most exciting triathlon events of 2022, with 36 of the sport’s top athletes competing in a “Ryder Cup” style competition that pits Europe against teams from the United States and “International.” (Included on Team International are Tamara Jewett, Lionel Sanders, Jackson Laundry and Paula Findlay, pictured above.)

One of the most exciting parts of the lead up to the event is the draw where the team captains name the athletes who will compete in each match. The captains for the teams were, for Team USA, Dave Scott and Julie Moss; for Team Europe, Normann Stadler and Natascha Badmann; and for Team International, Craig Alexander and Erin Baker.

Triathlon Magazine Canada editor Kevin Mackinnon will be the lead announcer on site for the event, while former Olympic coach and long-time triathlon commentator Barrie Shepley will be one of the hosts of the live broadcast set to air in over 100 markets around the world this Saturday. They sat down to discuss Saturday’s match ups:
