VIDEO: Heroic triathlete surprised with trip to Kona
Dr. Tricia DeLaMora saved a fellow athlete's life during Ironman Santa Rosa in July. Ironman and Clif Bar rewarded her with a once-in-a-life-time experience.
Ironman and Clif Bar gave one triathlete the ultimate surprise as a token of appreciation for her assisting another athlete on course at Ironman Santa Rosa this summer. Dr. Tricia DeLaMora stopped her race during the bike leg to give CPR to a fellow athlete “who had collapsed and needed assistance.” DeLaMora saved the athlete’s life and she finished her race, too, in a time of 15:08:41.
To thank her for her efforts, Mike Reilly — the voice of Ironman — showed up at DeLaMora’s office to surprise her with an all expenses paid-for trip to Kona this year to compete at the Ironman World Championship as part of Ironman’s Ambassador program. Check out the heart-warming video below:
