Tim Don returns to triathlon
Eight months after fracturing his neck, Tim Don returned to triathlon racing at IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Rica

On October 12th, 2017, just days before the 2017 IRONMAN World Championship Tim Don broke his neck while out on a training ride. Then six months later he toed the line at the Boston Marathon. In the cold, windy and wet conditions Don ran a 2:49:42. It was an impressive time by any standards, let alone in terrible weather, and following a devasting injury.
Last weekend at IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Rica, Don returned to racing triathlons. It was an impressive return to the sport, winning in a time of 3:49:59. At the finish, Don overcome by emotion announced: “I did it, I’m back.” After so much rehab following the injury, seeing Tim Don doing well and racing is an uplifting story.
