Best Training Advice – And Experts Continuing With Us for 2026
Here are some of the standout pieces from experts we trust – voices that will continue to shape how we think about training and racing in the year ahead.
We’re honoured to have Dr. Dan Plews joining us as a regular contributor to Triathlon Magazine, having authored three pieces this year. Two are essential reading for athletes targeting Kona, or coaches looking to optimize performance in the heat. Dan breaks down the latest evidence on heat adaptation and execution in hot conditions. He has also contributed a deep dive into the evidence around ketones, one of the most debated topics in endurance nutrition today!
Rob Watson, a former professional runner turned triathlete, has joined Triathlon Magazine as our new run expert. He’s already contributed pieces on off-season run training and how to thoughtfully rotate your shoe lineup, and we’re excited to share much more from him in the months ahead.
From a strength perspective (an often overlooked discipline in triathlon!), we’re thrilled to have renowned strength coach Erin Carson on board. Known for working with many of the world’s top triathletes, Erin brings a practical, performance-driven approach to strength training. Keep an eye out for much more from her in 2026!
